Itinerary
Our unwavering goal is to showcase the best of the Maldives by visiting desert islands, local villages, and idyllic sandbanks while allowing our guests to enjoy breathtaking snorkeling and explore world-famous dive spots.
Depending on the itinerary you choose, you will encounter aquatic species of various sizes and types, as well as fascinating corals. At Scubaspa, we adapt our itineraries according to the monsoons, weather conditions, and expected encounters, ensuring you have an unforgettable experience any time of year.
Scubaspa’s regular schedule covers six different routes within three major geographical areas.
Central Atolls (Best of Maldives)
Central Atolls (Best of Maldives)
A mix of the best picks for divers and non-divers alike. Central atoll itineraries are available all year round and cover most of the reasons to fall in love with the Maldives. Divers of all experience levels are welcome, and no minimum number of dives is required. The encountered marine life varies from nudibranchs and eels to schools of reef fish, eagle rays, reef sharks, turtles, manta rays, and whale sharks. Types of dives include channel dives, drift dives, pinnacles and walls, wreck dives, and world-famous night dives.
Far North
Our Far North itinerary includes a visit to Hanifaru Bay, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve famous for manta ray encounters. Due to the monsoon season, this route is only available between July and October, with regular cruises scheduled in September. The northern atolls are renowned for their unique topography, schooling reef fish, and vibrant coral life. If manta rays are your number one priority, be sure to book one of our Far North cruises to enjoy swimming surrounded by these magnificent giants.
Deep South
The southern atolls are the perfect choice for thrill-seeking scuba divers eager for more challenging yet rewarding channel dives. Many dive sites here are often exposed to very strong currents, so the itineraries are recommended for experienced divers holding advanced certifications with at least 100 logged dives. Regular cruises are scheduled for February and March, but the itinerary is available for private charters anytime between late January and early May. Deep South channels are famous for encounters with hammerheads, bull sharks, silky sharks, large schools of grey reef sharks, and silver tips.
A highlight of this trip, available during specific weeks, is Fuvahmulah, known for its unbeatable conditions to encounter tiger sharks, thresher sharks, oceanic mantas, whale sharks, and other pelagic fauna. Please note that additional domestic flights are required.
This itinerary represents a typical week’s cruise. Please note that the itinerary is subject to change due to seasonal variations, weather conditions, and other circumstances.
